Grade II Listed Victorian Park Gatehouse
The highly ornate and colourful Devonport Lodge is a fine example of a high Victorian park gatehouse that has been carefully conserved, repaired and extended with great attention to detail for the intricate architectural elements.
Handmade clay roof tiles, faience brickwork, ceramic mosaics and decorative joinery required research, forensic condition surveys before the proposed repairs and replacements could be established. Atkinson Architects work closely with artisanal craftsmen for all listed building repairs.
The original lodge has been modernised to become a comfortable, small family dwelling surrounded by formal gardens and the main southern gates to Devonport Park.
